Concrete tanks

The small blue box in the upper middle of this picture shows the amount of space in one of the pools at SeaWorld. The bright yellow line shows the path of a dive by a wild Southern Resident orca, K33.

Killer whales are migratory animals who constantly travel whole oceans (which is ¾ of the entire Earth area) and swim up to 100 miles a day. A concrete barren tank which resembles nothing close to the natural environment of orcas is not suitable to house such large marine mammals. The small and shallow tanks located around the world restrict orcas from behaviours as natural to them such as diving at depth and swimming in a straight line at speed. The barren tanks provides no stimulation for the orcas causing them to suffer in boredom and participate in unnatural, violent and self mutilating behaviours to relieve the boredom.

The human equivalent of an orca tank would be like living in one empty room for the majority of your life, sometimes moving to other empty rooms that vary in size but do not vary in quality.
